Error 404- Love Found!
Warning: Some sections of this
article are sarcastic in nature! :D
Who said our generation could
not understand love? I would have very contradictory views on this one. We
belong to a generation which has taken love to a completely new level. We are
in a relationship with our laptops, mobiles and tablets before anybody. We are
loyal like never before. We even give so much of attention to our gadgets. Do
you remember the last time you forgot to take phone or laptop while stepping
out of your house? We can forget our anniversary date, but not the date when
the warranty of our very precious gadgets expires. We are deeply and madly in
love, first with our gadgets, and then with the person on the other side of our
gadgets.
Let us just celebrate love
online is the new mantra. Order a virtual cake, light virtual candles, gorge on
delicious food (say, food porn) and voila, it’s a perfect date without the
slightest of hindrances. The only hindrances here can be a slow internet
connection.

COBWEBS OF LIFE |
Falling in love! *sigh*. Love
is blind, we say, but what if you have never seen the person you fell head over
heels for. I have heard so many people finding their soul mates over FB chats.
You ask them how they fell for this person, an answer, comes as a slap- “his DP
was so cute” shakes you up. A follow back on twitter is enough for some people
to realize their true love for a virtual soul staring into some led screen,
somewhere on the face of the earth.
Proposals now happen over Skype
calls. Traveling across seven seas, fighting storms on the way, wading through
the rivers to meet your love and propose is too passé. A hangout is so cool,
right? Send her a diamond ring (virtual of course, if you had money to buy a
real one you could have travelled as well), link all the possible sites that
talk about the ring having exact specifications like the Kohinoor. And you have
the girl. Getting married online is going to be the next big thing. All the
wedding planners out there better hone their digital skills. RSVP to a real
wedding is so last century will be the talk of town. Some years down the line
weddings taking place at the click of a button will be a common scenario. And
if anyone has to object the alliance, he/she should doesn’t matter the couple
his problem before the couple agrees and accepts the terms and conditions of
the alliance.
If getting into a relationship
can be a matter of few clicks, few clicks more and you are out of it. I would
say, in a way, we are also travelling back in time. Now that we do not have
luxury of sending trained pigeons around, we float messages and status updates.
One change in relationship status on your Facebook profile will invite
attention like never before. “It is over” will be sufficient enough to tell the
world how bruised your tiny little heart is. Also, do not forget those Emo images that would eat up the space on
your wall after the heartbreak.
Feelings, indeed, are going
virtual. Good or bad, we don’t know. The internet service providers, app
makers, search engine operators are certainly happy about this transformation.
We have no clue if the virtual world understands our feelings, but it is good
to have these graphic experts to paint our emotions on the digital canvas.
Emoticons suffice our need to express love. One wink here and one wink there,
you have earned love. After all this winking, one poker faced emoticon and
boom! You are out of those feelings.
