RESERVATION SYSTEM IN EDUCATION: A REAL INJUSTICE AND CURSE FOR SO CALLED UPPER CASTE STUDENTS.

Just changed religion in FaceBook from HUMANITY TO HINDUISM.... to be frank I can't tolerate the reservation system in India ... each and every seat of our hardwork and efforts are already reserved by the honorary SC ST and OBC... it really sucks me ... and mean a lot to me... rather I would join VHP (vishwa Hidu Parishad) than just being adhere to the FUCKING System of Reservation in India... see the thing is ,,,many of you would be thinking that , i am a nut ???? leave that crap aside
the must and important thing is that ... why should we suffer.... GENERAL caste..... I am talking about the political system there is a great need to change the reservation policy....
Ankit Shukla are you reading this >>>> our future PM ..... u ought to change it yarr....hopes rests with you ....
Enrolment in educational institutions and job placements are reserved based on a variety of criteria. The quota system sets aside a proportion of all possible positions for members of a specific group. Those not belonging to the designated communities can compete only for the remaining positions, while members of the designated communities can compete for all positions (reserved and open). For example, when 1 out of 10 clerical positions in railways are reserved for ex-servicemen, those who have served in the Army can compete both in the "General Category" as well as in the specific quota. This is all just rubbish,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Whether to have a reservation/quota system or not is still a debatable question in India. The Indian Constitution has a law for the same and according to this; reservation has been made to bring underprivileged classes at par with privileged or general ones. There are numerous reservations like reservation for women, reservation for physically challenged, reservation for economically backward class, reservation for Scheduled Castes etc. Though, reservation system is an evident discrimination, but it had been started with a very good objective of uplifting the socially backward society to give them equality of opportunities. But with time its meaning and the way it has been taken by the people has left many of us to believe that it has stopped delivering for what it was made. People have started misusing it. There are many examples of people making false documents just to get a seat in a college or a job. This leaves the more eligible candidate to give their seat to a person belonging to a reserve category.

What has led to the formulation of reservation system in India? The deep rooted caste system in India is the actual cause of the reservation system. Dominantly, the skin colour of the person was taken into account at the time when caste system came into being, like the fairer ones enjoyed being Brahmins or upper caste and the darker ones were Shudras or lower caste. This led to the total segregation of our society and to equalize this, the idea of reservation came into existence after independence. Hence in 1950 the quota for backward classes was made and from time to time many new quotas and reservations have been added to this.

But still, the condition of so called underprivileged sections in India are the same even that we have crossed so many decades of independence. Reservation is working in the opposite direction to its main objective as is demarcating the society further. It is being used to uplift one section of the society at the cost of another, which is not fair. Instead of this there should be equal opportunities for all. Moreover, a capable candidate does not need any certificate of being from a lower caste to prove their worth. It is his mind, education and ability to compete that can bring change in life. Taking a seat just by showing your under privileged certificate won’t give you anything, but just the degree or a job.

Also the reservation system in India is creating a workforce which is not capable enough to compete at the global level. India needs people for growth and development but reservation is adding undeserving candidates as well. So I think reservation system should be demolished and if the government really wants to uplift the underprivileged sections of the society then a well-balanced policies should be formulated. First of all such sections of the society should be clearly identified that need development and financial aids. Then to uplift them free education, or incentives and financial assistance should be provided. Once done let them face the competition, true competition. Make them capable, show them theright path and infuse a fighting spirit in them as no one is against healthy competition.

There was a quota system in US as well, but it was abolished long ago. But it does not mean that they are not working for the underprivileged in their society. For admission and appointment purposes, now they have point systems in which people from backward regions are given some extra points but, not a certain number of seats. So, though the government is helping the needy, but it is not at all discriminating or snatching away the rights of eligible candidates.

Also from time to time such reforms or laws must be evaluated by experts and their impact on the development of under privileged and overall society must be assessed. Also, calculate the way these are changing the per capita income, number of people below poverty line etc. Politicians should stop using reservation system as a gimmick to have a permanent vote bank. Education should not be a part of politics. Instead nurture the saplings right from childhood for their bright future and then there won’t be any need of so called reservation system in India.

Reservation is such an issue regarding which everyone is quite aware and it is burning topic of our country present days. Politicians are masterminds behind the game of reservation system. Our constitutional framers put the clause of reservation for SC, ST and OBC seeing the condition of those days. That time there was caste discrimination system and people were discriminated on the basis of caste. So to uplift these castes people, Dr. Ambedkar took this step. But focus toward the present scenario regarding reservation policy in India and you will come to know the ugly truth behind reservation game. In every field, government services, colleges etc…there is almost 50% reservation for SC,ST and OBC. Do you think that this thing is fair and justice toward students? What about those students who are securing good marks in competitive exams but inspite of this cannot get into it? Now clashes started between castes to make their caste or put their caste under reserved category. We can take recent example of Rajasthan. A caste war broke out between the Meena and Gujjar communities over the issue of Scheduled Tribe status for the Gujjars when the two communities engaged in bloody battles at Lalsot town, in Rajasthan's Dausa district. Nine people were killed in the clasheson 2nd june 2007 in this caste war to get their caste under reserve category. The Meenas, a Scheduled Tribe, do not want the Gujjars granted the same status because they fear this will eat into their share of reservations. So, you can understand the benefit of reservation for which people are fighting and killing each other. On the one side we are talking about non-discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, sex or gender etc…should be happened but on the other hand our constitution is discriminating on the basis of caste, sex, religion etc... How can we forget our caste and just adopt a single religion that is humanity when every time we are facing this worst truth? Reservation policy is affecting Open Category Students very badly. Its not only affecting their career but creating hatredness in their mind against system and this discrimination. According to me, its really injustice toward those students who do hard labor in their study, score good but cannot get admission into college or job because 50% seats are reserved and for those reserved seats people who are not at all deserving getting admission just on the basis of caste. Caste-based reservation is of no use in the changed circumstances. This is even dangerous as it will forever keep the country divided. The politicians cannot be allowed to ruin the nation, now that they have set their sights even on globally reputed IITs and IIMs.
In each and every sector, politicians to win vote of people are making reservations policy as game. In medical colleges also, there is reservation on the basis of caste. How can we expect good doctors when we are providing admissions not on merits but on the basis of castes. Meritorious students are not getting good opportunities due to this caste based reservation system. If we want to see development in our country, meritorious students should not be suffered. Why anyone needs reservation on the basis of caste, if they are meritorious then they can compete with other students without any reservation also. If anything needs to be change then its urgency to change our education system and reservation policies. What kind of equality our constitution is providing, when it’s categorizing people on the basis of caste, sex, religion etc….Its totally unfair, partiality with so called Upper Caste people. Reservation Policies should be totally abolish. There should be no discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, language, region, sex or gender etc… Today due to these reservation policies many students are suffering even if they are meritorious. Where one student is not getting admission into college even after securing 88% marks and other are getting admission into same college after securing 60% marks just on the basis of reservation policy, then what kind of justice this is with that student. Do you really think that it is justified and fair? If you want to see our country developed then there is need to upgrade and change our education pattern. Make our country free from any biasness and partiality among religion or caste. Stop these politicians to play game with people on name of caste and stop caste wars. What kind of democracy we are having, I really don’t understand. Thinking process of persons needs to be changed. In our preamble, there is word secular, but do you think that our country is really following secularism? If you really want to help, then help those people who are economically weak and due to this cannot afford education and these people are not only SC, ST or OBC but in large number Upper-Caste persons are also economically poor. In a democratic country, the candidate who is the most worthy should get the opportunity irrespective of his caste, creed and religion. When caste becomes the criteria for selection, how can anyone expect to get suitable person for that particular job or professional courses. The government argues that it can balance the equation by increasing the number of seats in the educational institution, but then it’s affecting on the quality of education. Each time before elections, new reservations start to emerge. These reservation based admission should be totally banned because it’s really injustice to Upper-Caste students and this is main obstacle in the path of success of our country. Its not the fault of that student if he took birth in higher caste and not getting admission into good colleges and good job even if meritorious because seats are reserved by some person who is not at all deserving candidate but is there due to reservation. It’s seems to be curse for them. So, there is need to stop these all reservation policies and do justice with students.
